Dever Ransomware is being propagated via spam emails. The emails in question would contain a fake message riddled with social engineering tricks designed to convince users to launch the attached file. When launched, Dever Ransomware will lock files through encryption and make demands of paying a ransom to restore the files. Read more
Dewar Ransomware is a file-locking Trojan that belongs to the Phobos Ransomware family. Data-locking Trojans are particularly nasty as they would infiltrate the target's computer, sniff out all their files and encrypt them without any apparent restoring options available, unless a backup of the hard drive is available. A scheme that was named 'Sick Girls Gets $1 Every Time Her Pic is Shared' Facebook Scam, which contains a photograph of a little girl in a hospital bed, clearly in medical treatment with a message stating that "she gets a dollar for every pic that's shared on messenger it goes towards her kidney transplant... you gotta share plz she is my neighbors kid." However, the message is a complete scam designed to get clicks and potentially push malicious links. Read more
