'당신의 시스템을 해킹했습니다' 이메일 사기는 두려움, 수치심, 그리고 기만에 기반한 일종의 성범죄 수법입니다. 이 이메일 수신자는 성인 웹사이트 방문 중 휴대전화 카메라로 촬영되었다는 거짓 주장을 듣습니다. 사기꾼들은 음란물 사이트 방문 중 심어진 것으로 추정되는 트로이 목마로 수신자의 시스템을 감염시켰다고 주장하며, 몸값을 지불하지 않으면 조작된 영상을 피해자의 지인들에게 공개하겠다고 협박합니다.
현실은? 모두 거짓말입니다. 사이버 보안 전문가들이 이 이메일들을 분석한 결과, 허황된 위협만 가득한 스팸에 불과하다는 것이 확인되었습니다.

거짓말을 분석하다
이러한 이메일은 일반적으로 다음과 같은 스크립트 공식을 따릅니다.
- 허위 감염 주장 : 해당 메시지는 귀하의 기기가 귀하의 민감한 데이터를 수집하고 웹캠에 접근한 맬웨어에 감염되었다고 주장합니다.
- 조작된 녹음 : 노골적인 콘텐츠를 보는 동안 녹음되었다고 합니다.
- 비트코인 수요 : 보낸 사람이 50시간 안에 1,300달러 상당의 비트코인을 지불하지 않으면 공개적인 굴욕을 당할 것이라고 합니다.
