EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.
Infected Computers: The number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular threat detected on infected computers as reported by SpyHunter.

IrobinHood is an adware program classified by PC security researchers as a Potentially Unwanted Program. However, there is a twist regarding IrobinHood. The creators of IrobinHood claim that all of the advertisement revenue that IrobinHood generates is used to support charitable causes. In essence, IrobinHood is distributed as a Web browser add-on that allows computer users to contribute to charity by viewing advertisements and making online purchases. However, despite the fact that the goals of IrobinHood are entirely laudable, IrobinHood still uses many of the mechanisms and strategies of adware and known PUPs. In essence, the only difference between IrobinHood and the majority of other adware components is that the revenue IrobinHood generates is donated to charity instead of being used to further unsafe activities or for the personal profit of its creators.

IrobinHood – The Adware that Allows You to do Good But Has Negative Effects on Your PC
Viewing the IrobinHood website, malware analysts have noted that the creators of IrobinHood are forthright about what their Web browser add-on does. However, they do not disclose that IrobinHood may cause problems on affected Web browsers. Even though the advertising and marketing revenue is donated to charity, it is important to remember that in generating this revenue the computer users' privacy may still be placed at risk and the affected Web browser's performance may also be affected negatively. This happens because, like other adware, IrobinHood inserts advertisements into the affected Web browser, tracks the computer users' online activities for marketing purposes and interrupts online transactions with irritating messages and pop-ups.
Deciding Whether or not You Want to Keep IrobinHood on Your PC
IrobinHood is a different case than many other adware threats or PUPs. This occurs because its revenue is used for legitimate causes. However, computer users should retain the right to decide for themselves if they wish their own activities to generate advertising revenue for a third party. If IrobinHood was installed on your computer without your knowledge, you might take the necessary steps to remove IrobinHood. Computer users need to understand exactly how IrobinHood works and how IrobinHood generates the revenue that IrobinHood then donates to charity.
