bing coronavirus worldwide cases trackerTech giant Microsoft has put out a real-time coronavirus tracker through its proprietary Bing search engine. The interactive map provides an in-depth overview of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and follows the spread of the disease as it unfolds all over the world. The free tracker retrieves continuous updates with new data arriving from such prominent sources as:

  • The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
  • The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC)
  • The World Health Organization (WHO)

Worldwide and Country-Specific View of COVID-19 Coronavirus Cases

The interactive map can be viewed on both desktop and mobile platforms and covers a wide range of data — total confirmed cases, breakdown by country, regional news, etc.

As of now, the world map shows a total of 182,762 confirmed cases with 7,161 fatalities. On a per-nation level, China takes the lead with more than 80 thousand, followed by Italy with 28 thousand, Iran and Spain closing in on fifteen and ten thousand, respectively. The current figure for the United States amounts to 4,740, with the majority of the cases recorded in the states of New York and Washington.

Picking up a random city, say, New York, on Bing's COVID-19 interactive map, will load a separate panel containing disease-related news videos.

If you need further New York coronavirus coverage, click on the highlighted "See more videos" icon at the bottom of the panel to launch a full-blown Bing search on the matter. You can follow the same procedure for any city you choose.

The COVID-19 tracker is an accurate barometer of the sheer magnitude of a new disease that knows no boundaries and shows no signs of slowing down. The pandemic has already forced several countries to go into lockdown, closing schools, businesses, and restricting travel.
