The QkSee software from Qksee Pvt Ltd. can be found at Qksee.net and users may be willing to explore what it offers. The QkSee program is promoted as a picture viewer that can improve the way you preview images on Windows greatly. QkSee is freeware and is said to offer simplified viewer mode, upgraded functions, smooth visual experience and support 67 image formats. That may sound nice, but QkSee is a clone of the Picexa Viewer and is deemed as a Potentially Unwanted Program. We recognize QkSee as a PUP because it runs a service named qkseesvc.exe that may send data like your browsing history and recently entered search terms on Google to the servers of marketers.

The QkSee application may drop tracking cookies on your PC, which may be accessed by advertisers when you visit affiliate sites. These cookies may be used to personalize the ads on your screen and improve the product positions at online stores. That is a standard practice among advertisers, but the QkSee app does that behind your back. Additionally, the QkSee app may install a browser add-on to your default Internet client and welcome you to share your visual experience with your friends on Facebook. Users that installed the QkSee software may find it listed in the Add-ons/Extensions Manager in their browser and remove it manually. The QkSee might edit your Registry to become your default image viewer and may be installed to C:\Program Files\qksee\qkseesvc.exe.

The QkSee app has a beautiful interface and the ability to render images as you are promised. However, the QkSee app does not have an easy-to-use folder navigation and may plant numerous tracking cookies in your browser. The service supporting QkSee may run as long as your PC is on and may share information with the servers of advertisers. Some users may not be comfortable with how QkSee behaves and might want to use a trustworthy anti-spyware instrument to remove its files completely.
