How to Uninstall iDrive

IDrive provides online backup services to users from a wide set of different systems and devices including Windows PCs, Macs, iPhones, Android phones and other mobile devices. If you no longer wish to use the iDrive application and need to remove it completely, you can follow the guides outlined below. 

Mac Systems

To get rid of iDrive on a Mac computer, you can use the dedicated uninstaller. Therefore, you need to access it in the first place. 

1. Start by selecting 'File' followed by 'New Finder Window' and 'Applications.' Here, locate the IDrive.app, right-click it, and choose 'Show Package Contents. ' 
2. The next step is to navigate to 'Contents' and 'MacOS' afterward. Find the 'IDriveUninstaller' and double-click it. You should be presented with a prompt about the start of the uninstallation process. 
3. Click 'Uninstall.' 
4. The last step is to enter a valid system (admin) password into the verification screen and then click 'OK.'

Windows Systems

On Windows computers, the usual method of removing applications and programs through 'Add or Remove Programs' found in the Control Panel is not recommended. Instead, the company advises using the dedicated uninstaller. 

1. Open the Start menu, go to 'Programs,' and select 'IDrive for Windows.'
2. Choose the 'Uninstall IDrive' option.
3. Confirm your decision by clicking 'Yes' in the prompt that appears. 
4. Wait for the uninstallation process to finish.
