Total-scan.net is a malicious website that is distributed by browser hijacking Trojans. Once a victim has been infected with one of these Trojans, he/she will be frequently redirected to Total-scan.net where a fake online system scan will automatically be conducted. The Total-scan.net scanner has a GUI similar to that of My Computer in order to trick users into thinking it is a legitimate scan. Do not believe the exaggerated scan reports, security alerts and pop-ups produced by Total-scan.net, they are all part of a scam to trick you into purchasing the fake security software called Security Tool.
