SmartScan
SmartScan is a rogue security application that presents itself as a reliable system optimization tool. SmartScan is from the same family as Win HDD, Hard Drive Diagnostic and HDD Scan. Once SmartScan has been secretly installed on a PC by a Trojan, it will simulate a system scan which will claim to detect several computer infections. In order to remove the detected infections, a user will be prompted to purchase the full version of SmartScan. Besides the fact that the full version of SmartScan does not exist, this rogue application can neither detect nor remove computer infections so never waste your money on it.
