Media View is a browser extension that may claim to improve the PC user's Internet surfing activity by permitting to open various media files. Media View add-on may look like genuine software; however, in actuality, it is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted program (PUP). The Media View plug-in may be not beneficial because it may create and display intrusive pop-up advertisements with the text 'Ads by Media View' and messages. If the computer user clicks on pop-up advertisements shown by Media View, the PC may get contaminated with a variety if malware threats. Media View may also trace the computer user's Internet surfing by recording the IP address, OS, browser data, unique identifier number, websites visited and viewed, search requests entered, other software and hardware details. Media View may circulate and invade the computer system through packed free programs that PC users can download from unprotected download websites.
