EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.
Infected Computers: The number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular threat detected on infected computers as reported by SpyHunter.

Arcade Candy is a Web browser add-on that may be considered a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP). Arcade Candy has been associated with various low-quality games promoted on shady websites and advertisements. Downloading and installing these 'free' games may result in PUPs like Arcade Candy entering the computer user's Web browser. PUPs like Arcade Candy may take the form of Web browser add-ons, extensions or plug-ins that may be used to make money at the expense of computer users. If Arcade Candy is installed on your Web browser, PC security researchers strongly recommend the use of a security solution to scan the affected computer and remove PUPs like Arcade Candy completely.

How the Arcade Candy Infection Process Works
Although Arcade Candy is not considered threatening, Arcade Candy may cause numerous symptoms that are more commonly associated with threats than with legitimate applications. Computer users may install Arcade Candy in the same way as many viruses or Trojans are installed (although it should be stressed that Arcade Candy is not a virus or considered threatening). Problems involving Arcade Candy's Potentially Unwanted Program may follow the pattern outlined below:
- Inexperienced computer users will see a Web browser game advertised on a banner or sidebar advertisement. Arcade Candy has been linked to a Hell's Kitchen browser game as well as to a variety of online role playing game clones. These kinds of online games, advertised as free, may be associated with PUPs like Arcade Candy. In reality, on these terms, they may be linked to threatening components like viruses or Trojans; PUPs like Arcade Candy are among the less severe kinds of problems that may be acquired from agreeing to download and install these shady games.
- Even if computer users stop the download midway through the process, PUPs like Arcade Candy may be installed anyway. As soon as Arcade Candy is installed, computer users' Web browsers may redirect them to the Arcade Candy website repeatedly. Every time computer users try to log into an online shopping website, intrusive advertisements offering 'special coupons' and sales may appear, blocking the computer user's view and making it very difficult to use the affected Web browser. Arcade Candy has been linked to various, very irritating pop-up advertisements and windows. Arcade Candy advertisements may appear even if computer users ensure that their computer blocks pop-up advertisements from any source, even if websites associated with Arcade Candy are specifically blocked.
- Content associated with Arcade Candy may be very difficult to remove. Computer users struggling with Arcade Candy and similar websites and PUPs have been very upset because the Arcade Candy pop-ups continue to appear regardless of how many times Arcade Candy is uninstalled or blocked. In many cases legitimate security programs are incapable of detecting or removing Arcade Candy, making it extremely difficult for inexperienced computer users to be aware of its presence.
Reverting the Unwanted Effects of Arcade Candy’s Presence
Unfortunately, many security applications are designed to detect and remove viruses, Trojans and other high-level threats but are not designed to spot PUPs like Arcade Candy. Because of this, exasperated computer users have noted that their Web browser is basically useless due to the high number of pop-ups and redirects while their security software continues to act as if there is no problem on the affected computer. To deal with Arcade Candy, malware analysts recommend the use of a reliable security program that is capable of detecting and removing PUPs. It also may be necessary to uninstall Arcade Candy using the Windows Control Panel and remove unwanted changes made by Arcade Candy to the affected Web browser's settings manually.
