GameControllerd is a process that loads every time you turn up your Mac and keep it active until you turn your Mac off. A passive listener keeps track of all keyboard tap events, thus acting as a classic keylogger. Mac users claim that the Gamecontrollerd process appeared on their machines after upgrading their OS from Catalina to Big Sur.

Gamecontrollerd appears to launch itself whenever you run a particular software application. Although the process runs parallel to Google Chrome and Spotify, researchers have yet to draw up a list of all associated applications whose launch triggers the process. However, what is known is that the gamecontrollerd process is hard to kill and re-emerges every time you try to neutralize it.
