How to Uninstall Webex

Having an integrated system that allows you to get all of your communications done in one place has become a necessity for many users. However, there are plenty of communication system providers out there, and users can choose the one that suits their needs the best. If that is not Webex for Mac, you can follow the steps below to remove the application from your Mac system.

If you want to Delete the Cisco Webex Meetings application using Finder, first click on Finder, then click the Applications folder. You can either click and drag the Cisco Webex Meetings icon to Trash or right-click and choose Move to Trash. Then right-click the trash icon and select Empty the Trash to ensure that the uninstallation process is completed.

If you want to use a tool designed for removing Webex for Mac specifically, first download the Mac Cisco-Webex Uninstaller. Then choose Cisco_Webex_Meeting_Application_Uninstaller.dmg located in the Downloads folder. Then, in the Cisco Webex Meeting Application Uninstaller window, double-click Cisco Webex Meeting Application Uninstaller. Once you’ve done that, choose Open to run the Cisco Webex Meeting Application Uninstaller. Then, If you are asked to shut down one or more applications, shut them down, and then select Try Again. When the uninstaller has concluded removing Webex files from your Mac, you will see a message confirming that the task is completed.

Note: If you are getting an error message stating 'Cisco Webex Removal tool can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer'. See what you need to do below:

Right-click on the Cisco_Webex_Meeting_Application_Uninstaller.dmg. (See Step 3 above), then choose Open, and finally follow the instructions at the top of this article to conclude the Uninstallation process.

Although the program has been deleted, some support and service files may still be left behind. You will have to find and delete them manually if you want to remove all traces of Webex from your computer. Start by clicking Finder. However, now click and open the 'Go' menu and select 'Go to Folder.' In the window that shows up, type ~/Library and click the 'Go' button. Once you are inside the Library folder, locate the 'Application Support' folder and open it. Navigate to the Cisco Webex Application subfolder, right-click it, and select 'Move to Trash.' After that is completed all that is left to do is to empty the Trash once more.
