How to Uninstall Matlab

MATLAB is a programming platform designed specifically for engineers and scientists. Keep in mind, however, that if your license has expired and you do not wish to renew it, it is recommended to first deactivate your account before removing the application.

Windows systems have multiple different methods for uninstalling applications and programs. One of the simplest is to type control panel in the search box on the taskbar and open the top result. Now, got to 'Uninstall a program' or take a long way around by first clicking on 'Programs' and then 'Programs and Features.' Once there, either scroll through the list of installed applications until you have located MATLAB R2020a or take advantage of the provided search field to find the application. Right-click it and select 'Uninstall.'

When the Uninstaller process begins, users will have the option to select whether they want their MATLAB user preferences and downloaded archive files delete. Select the appropriate option according to your goals and wait until the end of the uninstallation.

Mac users can proceed to remove MATLAB as they would any other application. Open Finder and go to your Applications folder. Locate the entry for MATLAB and drag it to the Trash. To complete the uninstallation do not forget to empty the Trash.
