How to Uninstall Grammarly

With Grammarly offering browser integration for its services, many users may no longer need to have the dedicated Grammarly application. To remove it from any Mac system, just follow the steps outlined below.

Start by quitting the Grammarly application. You can do this by choosing the 'Quit Grammarly' command from the Dock. After that, open your Applications folder, locate Grammarly, and move it to the Trash. While this would normally be the last step in the uninstallation process, some residual or service files may still be present on the computer. To make sure that all traces of Grammarly have been removed, users will have to delete these left-over files manually.

To reach the files, users will have to open the ~/Library folder, which is hidden by default. To do so, open Finder, select the 'Go' menu and click on the 'Go to Folder' option. Type ~/Library in the window that opens and click on the Go button.

Once inside the folder, check the following locations for files associated with Grammarly and move any you find to the Trash:

~/Library/Application Support/Grammarly

~/Library/Caches/com.grammarly…

~/Library/Saved Application State/com.grammarly…

All that is left is to empty the Trash bin and Grammarly will be completely removed from your Mac computer.
