How to Uninstall Garageband

GarageBand is a popular Mac application geared towards music enthusiasts. It gives users access to a music creation studio with a full set of features to learn, create, record, play, and share your own song hits. The application, however, is known to sometimes reach significant sizes, and as such users might find themselves having to get rid of it to free up some much-needed space. Fortunately, the process of removing GarageBand completely takes only a couple of clicks.

The removal process begins with opening your 'Applications' folder through Finder. Locate the icon of GarageBand and drag it to the Trash. You also can right-click it and select 'Move to Trash.' Although this is enough to uninstall the application from your system, some residual files might still be lingering around. To completely remove any presence of GarageBand, users will have to manually delete those files.

Click on 'Go' in the menu bar and select 'Go to.' In the search window that appears, type ~/Library. Once the Library folder is opened, users will have to go to each of the following locations and manually delete any GarageBand files they find there.

~/Library/Application Script/
~/Library/Caches
~/Library/Container
~/Library/Preferences

After you are done, GarageBand should be completely gone from your Mac computer.
