How to Fix PUBG Crashes & FPS Issues

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, more commonly known as PUBG, may be the game that managed to take the niche battle royale genre and turn it into a widespread phenomenon. However, the game is known for having some optimization issues, and users could intermittently be experiencing low frame rates or game crashes. The underlying reasons for the problems could be varied, but there are a couple of techniques that could help alleviate the situation.

The first step is to tune the game settings according to your computer's hardware resources. If you are gaming on a system with not that powerful GPU or CPU, or if you have limited available RAM, you may need to lower specific resource-intensive settings such as resolution, anti-aliasing, draw distance, etc. You may need to tweak them a bit to find a combination that delivers the best performance without compromising the graphical fidelity too much.

If PUBG is experiencing frequent crashes, you may need to verify the game's files through the settings of the game launcher client installed on your system. Installing the latest driver updates for your particular GPU model could also address some of the problems, as newer driver packages often include fixes, improvements, and optimizations for popular games.

It is also worth noting that users have reported a more stable PUBG game performance after disabling the XBOX DVR option in Windows 10. To do so, right-click the Start menu button and select Settings from the available options. Open the Gaming section and then click on Xbox Game Bar from the left pane of the new window. Turn the slider below 'Enable Xbox Game Bar for things like recording game clips, chatting with friends, and receiving game invites' to Off. Then, click on 'Captures' also found in the left pane, and turn the slider below 'Record in the background while I'm playing a game' to Off as well.
