How To Fix Fortnite Error Code AS-1041

From a side-mode to another computer game, Fortnite managed to elevate itself to the undisputed king of the battle royale genre with millions upon millions of players logging in every day. Fortnite is so popular, in fact, that it has become a mainstream name recognized even by people not interested in video games particularly.

However, with such a massive fanbase, any potential error could affect a significant number of players. The Fortnite Error Code AS-1041 is exactly such a problem. Typically, this error appears when players are trying to sign in and signals an issue with either the Epic Games (the developer of Fortnite) infrastructure or the servers of the game. If this is the case, there is absolutely nothing that can be done, except waiting for the problem to be resolved. However, under certain circumstances, the error could be related to issues on the user's system. Try the fixes outlined below and see if they are able to help:

Check the Server Status

It is always a good idea to check if the error is on your end. To do so let's check the status of the games' servers:

  1. Go to status.epicgames.com.
  2. See if all systems are listed as operations. You may need to expand the lists of various services to make sure that everything is operating normally.

Run a DNS Flush

If the servers are running fine, then it is time to look for a problem with your system's settings. One potential solution involves clearing the DNS Resolver cache.

  1. Press the Windows + R buttons on your keyboard simultaneously.
  2. Type cmd in the Run dialog box and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter on your keyboard. This will open an elevated Command Prompt window.
  3. Now, type the following commands and press Enter after each one to run it:

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /flushdns

ipconfig /renew

  1. Reboot your PC and see if you can launch Fortnite.

Run a Winsock Reset

  1. Press the Windows + R buttons on your keyboard simultaneously.
  2. In the Run dialog box, type cmd and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter to launch an elevated Command Prompt window.
  3. Type the following two commands and press Enter after each one:

netsh winsock reset

netsh int ip reset

  1. Restart the system and check if Fortnite runs as expected.
