How To Download Photos from iCloud
The iCloud Photo Library is an extremely convenient service offered by Apple that allows users to upload photos and videos to the company's cloud storage. Doing so can free space on the specific device while also enabling users to download the uploaded data to any other of their devices. If you are not sure how to download iCloud photos on your particular computer or mobile device, check the guidelines outlined below.
Downloading photos from iCloud (except on iPhone devices)
This method allows users to download pictures from their iCloud profile via the Web browser. Keep in mind that instead of icloud.com, iPhones will be redirected to the Find My iPhone service. We will describe an iPhone-specific method to download photos from iCloud as a separate option.
- Open your browser and go to icloud.com. (On Android devices, you must first go to the 'Settings' menu on the browser page and then select the 'Require Desktop Site' option.)
- Log in with your Apple ID credentials.
- Click on the Photos icon.
- While holding the Command key, select the photos you wish to download.
- Find and click the download icon located in the upper-right corner.
Downloading all of your iCloud photos to an iPhone or iPad
- Go to the Settings menu on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap on 'Apple ID.'
- Select 'iCloud.'
- Click on 'Photos.'
- Select the 'Download and Keep Originals' option.
Keep in mind that this process will result in all files from the user's iCloud storage being downloaded to the device in their original size without any additional authorization.
Downloading all of your iCloud photos to a Mac
- Open the Photos app on your Mac.
- Click on the Photos icon located in the upper-left corner.
- Open 'Preferences.'
- Select the 'iCloud' section.
- Select the 'Download originals to this Mac' option.
Keep in mind that full-size copies of your iCloud pictures will be downloaded to the Mac automatically.
