How to Delete Apps from the Launchpad on Mac

Mac's Launchpad is an application launcher that helps users easily find, organize, and open installed apps. The Launchpad will display all applications from the user's Application folder in a grid format. It can also be used to quickly get rid of any unnecessary or no longer needed applications with just a few clicks.

Start by opening the Launchpad. Now, press the Option key on your keyboard. Look for the 'X' symbol next to the icon of the app you wish to remove and click on it. The last step is to confirm your decision to remove an icon from Launchpad. Keep in mind that Launchpad can only be used to remove apps downloaded from Apple's App Store. If the app was retrieved from a different place, it may not have an 'X' button appear next to its icon in Launchpad.

Furthermore, users should take into consideration that this method will remove the selected app from their Mac system but any residual, junk, or service files will be left behind. It is recommended not to let such files clutter your disk drive and take up unnecessary space. Users may need to manually remove them by going to their Mac's ~/Library/ folder, going through the subfolder there, and moving to the Trash any files associated with the removed app. To open the ~/Library/ folder, go to Finder, select the 'Go' menu, and click on 'Go to Folder...' In the window that opens, paste ~/Library/ and click on 'GO.'
