Yrdisture.online

Yrdisture.online is a rogue website that promotes other shady websites or loads unsafe advertising content. What all pages like this one have in common is that they get enabled by some Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) installed on users' computers. Once installed on a device, PUPs like browser hijackers, for example, take control over the browser's settings and replace the regular homepage and search engine with Yrdisture.online or another unsafe URL. As a result, affected users get automatically redirected to these dubious pages each time they start their browser.

When Yrdisture.online is launched, it attempts to get users' permission to send them messages through a fake human verification test. It shows the following statement:

'Yrdisture.online wants to Show notifications

Click Allow to confirm that you are not a robot!'

It is a standard clickbait technique, which involves displaying an 'Allow' button and tricking the user into clicking on it. As Yrdisture.online has no content, clicking on that button only gives the website permission to show push-notifications directly on the user's desktop.

PUPs are designed to serve intrusive advertisements, but they also can run corrupted scripts to install other malware threats on users' computers. Most of them also harvest browsing and personal data, like visited URLs, IP addresses, search queries or even login credentials. These tools should be removed immediately as they can cause substantial monetary losses and result in severe privacy issues, reaching even up to identity theft.
