Windows Internet Guard is a fake security application and a member of the FakeVimes family which strives to imitate functionalities of a legitimate anti-spyware tool. Therefore, do not be fooled by the first impression of Windows Internet Guard because it is not related to PC protection. Windows Internet Guard was designed by web attackers, who aim at extorting money from unsuspecting computer users. Windows Internet Guard is an online scam, which includes repeated system scans that are performed every time the targeted PC is started and annoying pop-up notifications that continuously show up on the computer. However, these are misleading tactics used by Windows Internet Guard to trick PC users into believing their computers have been infected with numerous malware infections.
Windows Internet Guard provides confusing details linked to the attacked PC's security in an attempt to scare victims into thinking their machines are compromised, and then offers to buy the commercial version of counterfeit security software, which will allegedly fix all recognized security issues. In reality, neither the trial version, which invaded the computer system without the PC user's agreement, nor the full version of Windows Internet Guard is able to repair PC problems. The full version of Windows Internet Guard, which is, in fact, the commercial useless version, which is advertised with the purpose to steal money from victimized computer users and give nothing in return.
