Turk Polisi Virus is a computer threat that is identified as a Turkish ransomware. Turk Polisi Virus spreads with the help of a Reveton Trojan that locks the affected computer and asks the victim to pay a fine of 200 TRY (Turkish lira) via Ukash or Paysafecard to unlock the PC. A ransomlock Trojan creates and displays a bogus pop-up notification, which contains frightening information about supposed illegitimate online activities performed by the affected PC user. The falsified pop-up warning message of Turk Polisi Virus is a misleading method used by scammers to fool computer users into believing they have violated several laws. The false message of Turk Polisi Virus states that the PC user has been visiting prohibited websites, downloading and keeping copyrighted content, sending spam email messages to other PCs or distributing forbidden audio, video or other files to other computer users.
