TROJ_UPATRE.YYKE is a Trojan that spreads via banking-associated spam campaign. The spam email messages allegedly come from well-known financial institutions such as Lloyds TSB and Wells Fargo. The bogus email messages notify recipients that they have received a new safe message. Affected PC users are instructed to open the .msg file in the attachment to see the message. The .msg file encompasses another .msg file which conceals TROJ_UPATRE.YYKE. The method is possibly used to assure that TROJ_UPATRE.YYKE is not immediately found by security programs. Once TROJ_UPATRE.YYKE corrupts a computer, it starts downloading other malware infections.
