Trojan.Poweliks!gm is a heuristic detection utilized for the detection of threats related to Trojan.Powerliks. Trojan.Poweliks!gm is designed to affect computers running the Windows operating system such as Windows95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003, Windows NT, Windows ME, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, Windows XP and Windows Vista.Windows Vista. Trojan.Poweliks!gm is a widespread Trojan banker that accomplish its objectives by taking charge of the system control. Then, Trojan.Poweliks!gm changes the system network settings; disables security applications installed on the affected computer; modifies the Hosts file and crucial system files; and collects any useful information that will be used for marketing purposes or to execute other actions on the infected computer. It is obvious that all of these activities will consume a huge amount of system resources that will slow down the system's performance causing freezes and even crashes. Trojan.Poweliks!gm may find its way to a computer using various means such as hacked or compromised websites, removable storage devices and external drives, spam and phishing email attachments, corrupted torrents, etc. It is suggested to remove Trojan.Poweliks!gm from the affected computer upon detection.
