StreamX Ads

By GoldSparrow in Adware

The StreamX browser plugin is advertised as a tool that can upgrade your video and music streaming capabilities to the next level and allow you to stream in 1080 pixels and 320 kbps audio. Many PC users may want to install the StreamX plugin because of its browser integration and advertised features, but it is adware that is not likely to live up to your expectations. The StreamX adware fills the same niche as SnapMyScreen and Viralix Video and may use session and Adobe Flash cookies to record your search terms on Google and Bing. The StreamX adware may use that information to show related advertisements on banners, transitional ads and pop-up windows. Security researchers reveal that the StreamX adware may read the meta tags of pages you visit and use JavaScript to inject inline ads and redirect users to affiliate services. The StreamX adware may substitute the native ads on Best Buy, eBay and Amazon with links to less-known competitors where your credit card data might not be protected, and HTTPS encryption may not be present. Moreover, the StreamX adware may use pop-under windows to welcome users to install riskware such as UpdaterEx and SuperPCFix that may slow down your system and close your running programs abruptly. The StreamX adware may arrive on your system embedded with a free program setup and install its files in the Temp folder to sabotage manual removal. The StreamX adware may not appear in the 'Programs and Features' module of Windows, and you should install a renowned anti-malware utility to detect all files related to StreamX and delete them.
