Software Protector is a fake security program from the same family as Virus Protector. On penetrating a system, Software Protector will simulate a fake system scan and report the detection of numerous malware on the system. Software Protector will also display security alerts and pop-up warning to scare users into thinking that their computers are infected and the only solution is to purchase its “full” version. The scan reports and security alerts displayed by Software Protector are all fabricated therefore users may safely ignore them.
