The SocialHub software is promoted at Socialhub.online as a browser extension for Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Mozilla Firefox that can help you manage your social media presence easily. The slogan at Socialhub.online says 'SocialHub. Easy way accessing your Social Life.' and Web surfers that have accounts on networks like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Vkontakte, and mySpace may be interested in installing SocialHub. The SocialHub software is developed by native Delta Ltd. as seen on its main site. However, the company does not appear to be registered anywhere, and there are no user reviews that may help interested users determine the usefulness of SocialHub. We have received reports that it may make unwanted changes to the browser and users were overwhelmed with advertisements on their new tab page. Further investigation showed that SocialHub has a page on the Chrome Webstore and it is used by seventy-one people, at the time of writing this. PC users that are willing to install SocialHub need to consider that the program requires more than a few permissions to place shortcuts on your new tab page. SocialHub is programmed to ask for the following rights:

  • Read and change all your data on the websites you visit.
  • Read and change your browsing history.
  • Display notifications.
  • Read and change your bookmarks.
  • Detect your physical location.
  • Manage your apps, extensions and themes.

You may expect to be provided with a dashboard that you can use to synchronize your posts on social media and track the activity of your friends. You are likely to be disappointed by SocialHub because it is known to place links on your new tab page to popular messaging services and social media. Other than that there is nothing much to SocialHub except for the abundance of advertisements that may come with the software. The SocialHub software is classified as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) with adware capabilities that can push notifications from advertisers on your desktop, as well as messages from your friends on Facebook and Twitter. The mixed content provided by SocialHub may not win the favor of many users, considering that SocialHub is supposed to improve your management of social media and many users may not see these improvements. Most social media sites offer notifications via your browser, and you do not need SocialHub to handle them. Additionally, you may not want your messages to go through SocialHub. PC users that wish to remove all files related to SocialHub should use a trusted anti-spyware instrument and make sure to delete all traces of the program.
