The SMSS-DoOoM malware is found in USB drives where it changes all files into shortcuts that allow the malware to be installed on the system. The SMSS-DoOoM malware may manipulate files on internal hard drives and can be detected by security solutions under the names of smss-DoOoMp.lnk, smss-DoOoMs.vbs, smss-DoOoM.lnk and smss-DoOoM.vbe. SMSS-DoOoM is considered a worm that can install a keylogger software on the infected machine that can record keyboard strokes. Also, the SMSS-DoOoM worm could be instructed by its handlers via a remote server to install additional malware. A strong defense would be the incorporation of a powerful anti-malware shield.
