PUP.Outbox is a security threat categorized as adware, which may affect the PC user's browsing by displaying unwanted pop-up ads onto legitimate websites that may have been compromised the PC user is visiting. PUP.Outbox may force the web browser to open unwanted websites that may deliver commercial pop-up ads with the purpose of making money from clicks on ads. PUP.Outbox may gather the computer user's Internet surfing habits and cover the screen of the PC with relevant pop-up ads. PUP.Outbox may retain and analyze the PC user's browsing history, thus, potentially resulting in violation of his privacy. When installed, PUP.Outbox may insert unwanted toolbars to the web browser and the desktop. PUP.Outbox may insert an unwanted browser extension, add-on or plug-in for Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome when computer users install other free software that may have embedded into their installation PUP.Outbox.
