How Outobox Works
As soon as Outobox is installed, this PUP may make changes to your Web browser and computer settings. These changes allow Outobox to display various types of advertisements on the affected Web browser. Security analysts have associated Outobox with a variety of advertisement types, including pop-up advertisements, in-text advertisements, sliding and drop-down advertisements and banners. Outobox may also add advertisements, coupons and discounts to retail websites like Walmart or eBay. The most common types of Outobox advertisements appear as pop-ups from the bottom right corner of the Web browser window. These particular advertisements contain targeted content and a menu that claims to contain a 'Trust Rating' and a percentage. Outobox may interfere with your online searches and may also add banners and additional drop-down tabs and menus to retail websites. These supposed coupons lead to suspicious websites associated with Outobox itself. Targeted links contained in Outobox pop-ups are called 'Topic Torch' by this PUP's developer and are identified by a Web browser tab colored blue, green or white. Advertisements associated with Outobox may contain the text 'Ads by Outobox' and a link to the Outobox.net advertisement platform.
If you are experiencing problems associated with Outobox, Outobox should be uninstalled at once. To ensure that your Web browser was not exposed to unwanted content, use a reliable security program to scan your computer. It may be necessary to undo harmful changes manually made by Outobox to your Web browser or computer settings.
