Freemium
Freemium is a potentially unwanted program (PUP), which may be downloaded from the Internet when a computer user downloads freeware. Freemium may result in numerous PC problems when it is downloaded and installed on the computer system. The PC user may agree to download Freemium when he is downloading other free programs, or he may download Freemium inadvertently by being not enough attentive to the installation process. When the computer user downloads any free application from the net and does not read the download agreement, he may not understand what other potentially unwanted programs may come packaged with the specific free application he is downloading. When downloaded and installed, Freemium may run a number of background processes that slow down the PC. Freemium may display disturbing pop-up ads on the screen of the computer. Freemium may embed a malicious code to the web browser that may destroy or slow it. Freemium may also lead to unwanted browser diversions to various commercial websites.
