ExtraProvider Ads
The ExtraProvider program may claim that it offers an extra layer of protection to your online activities, but security researchers note that ExtraProvider is adware programmed to push marketing materials. The ExtraProvider adware is deployed by bundling with freeware setup files that many computer users install via the 'Express' or 'Typical' option. Additionally, the ExtraProvider adware may block native ads on the pages you visit and insert its own that may take the form of banners, in-text hyperlinks, and pop-up windows. The ExtraProvider adware may appear as a browser extension, an add-on and a Browser Helper Object depending on what web browsers you have on your computer. Also, the ads by ExtraProvider may feature links to malicious websites and offer you to install potentially harmful software. The ExtraProvider adware may collect data about your online habits in order to generate tailor-suited ads and maximize its effectiveness. Web surfers concerned with their privacy may want to remove the ExtraProvider adware from their system by using a credible anti-spyware utility.
