EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.

The Cookies Control browser extension is promoted as an easy-to-use extension that helps users switch cookies on and off quickly. The Cookies Control extension does not have a publicly known developer, and it can be found at cookies-control.com. The Cookies Control app is reported to travel in free software bundles and has a hidden page on the Chrome Web Store found at:
chrome.google[.]com/webstore/detail/%D1%81ookies-control/cfkpefbllpconnkfpdgagkifmflckkdp.
The Cookies Control extension may seem useful to users who do not wish to retain the cookies cache downloaded during regular Internet browsing. The cookies-control.com site may suggest that the proposed extension improves your privacy, but that is not entirely accurate. The Cookies Control extension might limit the ability of ad networks to track your activity online by using cookies. However, your IP address, OS version, browser type, and unique Web surfing pattern are public and can be used to identify your machine on the Internet. You may want to know that the Cookies Control software has a clone named 'Cookies On-Off' that is related to the following pages:
- chrome.google[.]com/webstore/detail/cookies-on-off/dceidjjhomnclmfgflmjaomohekdgdg
- cookiesoff[.]com
Behavioral cyber security systems have identified Cookies Control (a.k.a. Cookies On-Off) as adware. Evidently, the Cookies Control is programmed to block cookies and offline site data from a list of providers while allowing the presence of Web beacons and persistent tracking cookies from a number of ad networks. When the Cookies Control adware is installed it would ask the user to grant the following privileges:
- Read and change all your data on the websites you visit.
- Display notifications.
- Change your settings that control website's access to features such as cookies, JavaScript, plugins, geolocation, microphone, camera, etc.
The Cookies Control extension may seem like a useful tool, but it is an adware that generates a virtual layer on top of the pages you load. The layer generated by Cookies Control (a.k.a. Cookies On-Off) provides promotional images, banners, inline ads, and video commercials from various advertisers. Computer users that tolerate the Cookies Control adware may be suggested to install recommended software from third parties, which would provide Cookies Control's creators with pay-per-install revenue. The ads by Cookies Control (a.k.a. Cookies On-Off) may include links to insecure pages. You can remove Cookies Control and related clones with the help of a trustworthy anti-spyware scanner.
