Check Disk Description
Check Disk is a bogus defragmenter intended to hold a computer ransom by preventing PC users from launching programs or deleting files. Once Check Disk is installed, it will run a system scan and allege to have detected various errors only to drive PC users to purchase its full version. To raise the level of fear even higher, CheckDisk has certain folders show any data. Upon opening a folder like C:\Windows\System32\, Check Disk is capable of displaying another folder’s details or make it look as if it’s empty.
If you attempt to use your preferred anti-virus program, Check Disk will terminate it and display error messages, such as “Windows detected a hard drive problem,” to trick you into coming to the conclusion that the hard drive has been corrupted and an action has to be taken fast to fix it. These bogus error messages and scan results are all used to mislead you into purchasing Check Disk and do not let desperation lead you to putting your personal information in jeopardy. Check Disk can neither detect nor remove computer infections. Check Disk is no more than a scam and you should seek a recognized security tool to completely remove it.
