The Capture It Plus program (also seen as CaptureItPlus) is promoted as a screenshot utility on the open source platform Codeplex.com and users may install it with a free software bundle that includes badware like LoadMoney and Multiplug. Unfortunately for the developer of Capture It Plus—it is perceived as scareware because it may show pop-ups by Repairmypc.com.au that say the user's PC is infected with threats like Zbot and Banload. The pop-ups by Capture It Plus may resemble the BSOD messages on Windows and direct users to call the 800-245-2579 phone line of Repair My PC Ltd. that is not correctly registered as a technical service provider. The pop-up alerts by CaptureitPlus may suggest users to install a scanner before contacting 800-245-2579. The agents of Repair My PC Ltd. may claim to work with USA Employment, LLC, and B.R.S International New Times Retails to claim credibility. However, the companies and institutions mentioned before are disproving such claims.
The Capture It Plus may use a browser plug-in to generate fake alerts in your browser and refer the file kbdhid.sys that is employed by Windows to establish a connection with a keyboard and external number pad. The kbdhid.sys file is a safe file, and you can make sure of that by its digital signature from Microsoft Corp. when you examine it in the System32 folder. The CaptureitPlus scareware may use a file named popupalert.exe to display messages in your browser and run on the system startup. Additionally, the CaptureitPlus scareware may suggest users that they are infected with a threat called Adware.Win32.Look2me.ab by showing a notification in the tray area. You should avoid following the instructions provided by the Capture It Plus scareware to avoid installing rogue security scanners like Windows Basic Antivirus and Windows Instant Scanner. You may want to consider investing in a renowned anti-malware solution to secure your OS and delete all files of the Capture It Plus software.
