BlockTheAdApp, otherwise known as BBlockTheAdApp, is a PUP (potentially unwanted program) produced by BLockTheAdApp. BlockTheAdApp may embed a Browser Helper Object (BHO) into Internet Explorer. BlockTheAdApp may also be categorized as adware. BlockTheAdApp may embed disturbing ads with its affiliate advertising providers in an effort to serve a variety of advertisement types that may involve banner, pop-ups and inline text links. The disturbing advertisements of BlockTheAdApp may aim at advertising the installation of extra insecure content which may involve Web browser toolbars, optimization applications and other programs, all so the publisher may make a profit from clicks on ads. BlockTheAdApp may also change random website text with hyperlinks. BlockTheAdApp may show browser pop-up messages advising to download and install bogus updates or other software. BlockTheAdApp may display pop-up advertisements carrying red 'Click here' button when the PC user hovers those links.
