The ArcadeCenter Search is a browser hijacker that takes control of your Google Chrome browser and starts making changes to its settings. The browser will continue to look the same, but all searches will be filtered through the browser hijacker's website and redirecting you to its affiliates.
As with many such unwanted programs, the ArcadeCenter Search claims to provide you with a useful service. As the name suggests, the ArcadeCenter Search claims that it gives its users access to more than one thousand free online games. This might sound attractive to many users who may find such a program to be worthy of having on their PCs. But that's not the primary method the ArcadeCenter Search browser hijacker gets distributed.
Just like many similar programs, the ArcadeCenter Search browser hijacker comes bundled with other Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) in freeware bundles. Such packages are capable of installing programs on the users' computers automatically or in a way that they don't have the knowledge of that happening. They often rely on deceptive techniques to convince people to advance with their installations.
Once the ArcadeCenter Search browser hijacker has infected your computer successfully, it will start changing your browser settings. The ArcadeCenter Search will modify the homepage, the new tab page, and the default search engine and redirect them to its own services. This will help the ArcadeCenter Search fill your Web browser with a barrage of pop-up ads and page redirects. Apart from being annoying, this also poses a bigger security threat as browser hijackers are often used by threat actors to lead their victims to pages where they can get infected with threats.
Infected users may find it difficult to get rid of the ArcadeCenter Search browser hijacker, as simply removing the extension will not clean their systems from all of its codes and files. This is why it's always good to have proper detection and removal tools to help you protect your PC from such nuisances that can lead to bigger problems.
