WiredBlank

WiredBlank is an application designed with the primary purpose of generating advertisements on users' Mac devices. As such, the application falls into the adware category. It is highly likely that WiredBlank is also a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) because few applications of this type are distributed through normal channels. Instead, they rely heavily on questionable tactics, such as software bundles or even outright fake installers/updates. In many cases, users do not inspect all of the installation settings and thus miss the fact that there are additional items set to be installed on their devices.

Once activated on the Mac, WiredBlank is likely to be behind the frequent appearance of pop-ups, banners, notifications and other advertising materials. The delivery of intrusive advertisements could severely impact the user experience on the device. More importantly, users risk being shown advertisements promoting untrustworthy destinations or shady software products and services. It is not uncommon for the advertisements generated by such unproven sources to promote sites running various online schemes - fake giveaways, technical support frauds, phishing tactics, etc. Users may also encounter dubious adult pages or online betting/gambling platforms.

PUPs, in general, also are notorious for spying on users' browsing activities. The invasive application may collect the users' browsing history, search history, clicked URLs, IP addresses, geolocation and more. In some cases, even sensitive information, such as account credentials, banking details, and credit/debit card numbers al may be compromised with the PUP accessing the browsers' autofill data.
