Win32/Olmarik.AWT is a dangerous rootkit that causes a system to become unresponsive and may take over certain functions. Win32/Olmarik.AWT is known to infect the MBR (Master Boot Record) of an infected PC's hard drive. Doing so may allow Win32/Olmarik.AWT to render certain actions without the need for the user's interaction. Usually a system infected with Win32/Olmarik.AWT will become unresponsive and tend to crash. Removing Win32/Olmarik.AWT successfully may require the use of an updated antimalware application that has the ability to remove rootkit infections.
