West Mercia Police Ukash Virus
West Mercia Police Ukash Virus is a ransomware infection, which affects computer users in UK. While being installed on a targeted PC, West Mercia Police Ukash Virus displays a bogus image/ pop-up alert made and distributed to corrupted PCs in the United Kingdom by a ransomlock Trojan. The related Trojan completely locks the victimized computer user from accessing the desktop and PC and asks to pay a fine of 100 pounds via Ukash or Paysafecard to unlock the attacked PC. The fraudulent pop-up warning message of West Mercia Police Ukash Virus declares that the computer has been locked because the computer user has violated certain laws of the United Kingdom. The falsified warning message of West Mercia Police Ukash Virus states that the computer user has been downloading and dispersing copyrighted content such as software, videos, music, sending spam email messages, visiting infected websites and watching and dispersing pornographic material. The fictitious pop-up notification of West Mercia Police Ukash Virus is allegedly sent by the West Mercia Police and uses the official name and logo in an attempt to fool victims into believing it is a legal police notification. The bogus pop-up alert of West Mercia Police Ukash Virus accuses target computer users for committing cybercrime and, therefore, asks them to pay a fine to evade jail and restore access to the PCs. You should not be scared by the pop-up warning message of West Mercia Police Ukash Virus and pay the fine because it is a hoax designed by attackers to swindle credulous PC users in UK out of their money.
