Virus Shield 2009 is a rogue anti-spyware application created by the same authors as Virus Doctor, Virus Melt and Virus Sweeper. Virus Shield 2009 can be downloaded from a malicious website that advertises rogue anti-spyware programs or a Trojan infection. Usually the Trojan infection that installs Virus Shield 2009 comes from a fake video codec or browser security hole. Virus Shield 2009 carries out various malicious actions affecting your ability to determine if your system needs to be rid of several parasites. Virus Shield 2009 is offered as a full version that purportedly claims to be able to remove the infections. It has been determined, Virus Shield 2009 is not able to legitimately detect or remove any type of computer infection including viruses, spyware, trojans or other known malware infections.
Virus Shield 2009, once installed on your system, displays fake alert messages similar to the following:
"System Alert
malicious applications, which can contain trojans, were found on your PC and need to be immediately removed. Click here to remove these potentially harmful items using Virus Shield."
