TROJ_RANSOM.CXB is a ransomware Trojan that takes over targeted PCs by using certain audio recording to make victims pay a ransom. TROJ_RANSOM.CXB is used by cybercrookss to spread certain ransomware threats blocking the desktop, keyboard and the whole computer. TROJ_RANSOM.CXB shows a falsified pop-up notification of the certain ransomware, which accuses the PC user for performing illicit activities such as downloading and spreading copyright content, downloading and distributing pornographic files or visiting forbidden websites. The fake pop-up warning message generated and illustrated by TROJ_RANSOM.CXB asks the victim to pay a fine of USD200 from to restore access to the computer. TROJ_RANSOM.CXB distributes ransomware infections that pretend to come from the police or other governmental institutions in order to frighten and persuade affected computer users into believing they have breached certain national laws. TROJ_RANSOM.CXB also installs a mp3 file inside its existing directory.
