TROJ_RANSOM.AAF is ransomware Trojan that corrupts vulnerable PCs by Using Audio File. TROJ_RANSOM.AAF uses certain audio recording towards making affected computer users pay a fine. TROJ_RANSOM.AAF is used by cybercriminals to distribute certain ransomware programs blocking the desktop and the whole PC, and then asks the affected computer owner to pay a fine of USD200 to regain access to the workstation. TROJ_RANSOM.AAF spreads ransomware programs that speak on behalf of the police or other law enforcement institutions in order to scare and convince affected PC users into thinking they have been downloading and distributing illegal material such as forbidden/pirated software, audio and video. TROJ_RANSOM.AAF displays a fake image/alert on the desktop of the infected computer. TROJ_RANSOM.AAF installs a mp3 file inside its existing directory.
