TROJ_PIDIEF.USR is a Trojan that is a component of the Blackhole Exploit Kit (BHEK) spam campaign affecting social networking website Pinterest and its users. TROJ_PIDIEF.USR is delivered via malicious spam email attachments sent by cybercriminals. The fraudulent email message is sent to the inbox of he affected computer user. The bogus email, which carries TROJ_PIDIEF.USR pretends to be a genuine email from Pinterest and announces the attacked PC user about a successful password change. The unsolicited email message also includes a link that would permit the victim to see the new password. If the target PC user clicks on the link, he/she is diverted to different suspicious advertisement websites. When the PC user opens the harmful file, it downloads a script identified as another malware infection. TROJ_PIDIEF.USR uses Adobe TIFF vulnerability.
