Trojan:Win32/LockScreen.BO is a hazardous Trojan that restricts infected computer users from accessing the corrupted machine by locking the screen and restricting access to the desktop. Trojan:Win32/LockScreen.BO pushes the victims to buy an online voucher to send to a remote attacker in order to unlock the PC. However, the PC does not actually gets unlocked even if the computer user sends the voucher. When installed and executed, Trojan:Win32/LockScreen.BO makes system changes and displays the screen, which declares that pirated music has been detected in the computer and therefore, it is now locked because of this action. The screen also declares that the Performance Rights Organization in Germany (GEMA) is the entity that has set pirated music. However, the screen is falsified and is simply a scam created by hackers to rip gullible computer users off. If your computer is corrupted by Trojan:Win32/LockScreen.BO, do not purchase the voucher and send it to the details on the false screen. Trojan:Win32/LockScreen.BO also modifies Internet Explorer settings to enable Active Scripting. Trojan:Win32/LockScreen.BO steals sensitive data such as hard disk serial number, computer's IP address and Windows version running on the infected computer system and then forwards it to a remote server. Trojan:Win32/LockScreen.BO also uses this data in the shown fake screen. The screen is an HTML file located in the same server. Remove Trojan:Win32/LockScreen.BO immediately after detection.
