Trojan:Win32/Adslock.A is a Trojan infection generated to lock the desktop and then display a request to press the affected computer user to fulfill an offer which supposedly unlocks the screen. Once executed, Trojan:Win32/Adslock.A makes copies of itself in the Windows startup folder so that it could run automatically every time Windows is started or a PC user logs on. Trojan:Win32/Adslock.A is also able to execute desktop changes. Once installed and run, Trojan:Win32/Adslock.A disables the Task Manager and conceals the system Taskbar. Trojan:Win32/Adslock.A initiates a HTTP request to the particular web page. Then, the server replies with a message which says "You are Locked", and shows unwanted images that may indicate that the PC user is playing inappropriate content. The message also indicates that the user can complete any of the two offers. This often causes fake promotions that declare the user is a winner of an award. However, the user is asked to provide an email address and Personal Identifiable Information (PII) to approve the prize. Trojan:Win32/Adslock.A also connects to external servers, which are known to display advertisements. You need to uninstall Trojan:Win32/Adslock.A as quickly as possible.
