Trojan.Ransom.ED is a Police Trojan that blames target computer users for carrying out illegal online actions and asks them to pay a supposed fine. Trojan.Ransom.ED is used by scammers to distribute ransomware or scareware. Trojan.Ransom.ED blocks the corrupted PC and shows a bogus full-screen pop-up image/alert on the screen of the affected computer system. Trojan.Ransom.ED allegedly comes from official law enforcement institutions and states that the computer user has breached certain laws by downloading and viewing illicit images or pirated content and downloading and spreading other forbidden material to computer users. Trojan.Ransom.ED asks the victim to pay the so-called legal fine for imaginary cybercrime activities to restore access to the computer system and evade jail. Do not pay the ransom because ransomware spread by Trojan.Ransom.ED is an online scam generated by cybercriminals to pilfer money from unsuspecting PC users.
