Trojan:HTML/SMSFakerweb.A is a Trojan that shows a pop-up window created in Russian encouraging computer users to send an SMS to a premium number. Trojan:HTML/SMSFakerweb.A propagates via an infected phishing website. Web users may be rerouted to an infected website that has been generated to appear like an authentic website, when Trojan:HTML/SMSFakerweb.A illustrates a pop-up notification. The phsihing website will strive to masquerade as a genuine website, but, in fact, will be taking to a different URL and will attempt to force Internet users to type in a phone number, which in turn can be used to pay for SMS services.
