'Skype Scam alert' Details

Skype Scam alert, otherwise known as Skype protection scam, is a spam Skype warning message that shows up when cybercriminals contact you on Skype. They strive to convince you that Skype is notifying you that your PC is at risk. The fake warning message sent by cybercriminals is ‘Online Notification’ and ‘Skype alert system’. Those warnings messages carry links to landing websites of counterfeit anti-spyware applications that simulate an online scan of computer drives. When being scanned computer drives may, in fact, get corrupted by a malicious program through an exploit which exists in the website scripts. Skype Scam alert can also infect the targeted PC with another spyware that has retrieved the affected user’s Skype number and made it available for attackers who send spam and pretend to speak on behalf of Skype. You need to use a legitimate anti-malware program to remove Skype Scam alert from your computer.
