Sins1.xyz is a browser hijacker application that promotes the sins1.xyz.com dubious search engine. As is typical for these applications, they are not spread via the normal distribution channels. Instead, they try to infiltrate the Mac devices of users without being noticed via deceptive methods such as bundling or fake installers/updates for more popular software products. This deceitful behavior classifies the application as a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program).

The main functionality of Sins1.xyz is to take over the Web browser on the system and force it to open the promoted address. It achieves this goal by modifying several of its settings - mainly the homepage, new tab page and the default search engine. Afterward, whenever the affected browser is opened, a new tab is started, or the user initiates a search via the URL bar, it would open the promoted address immediately. Search results delivered by sins1.xyz.com cannot be trusted, as they may include numerous ad links. 

PUPs and dubious search engines can oftentimes collect various information about the user's browsing activities. Sins1.xyz is not an exception as it can track the user's browser type, OS, email address, IP address, browser data, search data among other information.
